Please be aware of the following important dates and tasks:

 

Planning and Preparation

DATE 

August 1 - November 25

TASKS

  • Register for the inaugural Ron Clark Academy Model UN Middle School Conference!
  • During this time, advisors should work with students to prepare and plan for the conference.
  • If you are new to Model UN, visit Model UN 101: Getting Started.

 

Registration Period

DATE

November 25

TASKS

  • Confirm with your students that they can commit to attending the conference.
  • Notify Ron Clark Academy (mun@ronclarkacademy.com) immediately regarding any changes in the attendance of conference participants.

DATE 

December 16

TASKS

  • School Fees Due (Non-Refundable)
  • Schools will have the option of paying online immediately with a credit/debit card or mailing a check. All checks must be made out to "Ron Clark Academy", postmarked and received by this date.
  • Late payment will result in an invalid registration form, and your school will not be considered registered to attend the conference or receive country assignments. Paying via credit/debit card is highly recommended.
  • Review full payment information.

 

Conference Preparation

TASKS

  • Country Assignments & Invoices sent to schools
  • Country assignments will be posted on the website. 
  • Schools will also receive an invoice regarding payment for the number of students and extra advisors as indicated on your registration form.
  • If your school is unable to fill the country assignment spot, notify Ron Clark Academy as soon as possible. No refunds will be given out at this point.

TASKS

  • During this time, students should be researching and preparing for the conference.
  • Visit the online Model UN Preparation Guide to read tips on research, public speaking, writing resolutions, caucusing and more.
  • Begin processing the necessary forms at your school to request payment of delegate and advisor fees. Schools will be charged a $50 late fee for all payments received after the due date.

TASKS

  • Final drop date for number of delegates.
  • Any changes to the number of delegates coming from each school must be indicated by today. Past this date, all schools are financially responsible for every spot they are registered for. There may be a waiting list to attend the Ron Clark Academy MUN conference, and in an effort to accommodate as many schools as possible, organizers need to be permitted to fill available spots.

 

Final Conference Preparations

TASK

  • Position Papers and Video Release Forms Due
    • All position papers should have been submitted by this date.
    • Collect a signed Video and Photography Release Form from each of your delegates.
    • Advisors should also use this time to review RCAMUN's policies and procedures with your students in the Conference Guide.
      • Review the Conference Code of Conduct.
      • Please note: Any iPods, cell phones, magazines or items of this nature seen in committee will be confiscated by committee staff, and only returned to delegates at the end of the conference.
      • Review the Conference Dress Code.
      • Review the Guidelines for Performance.
      • Review the Conference Schedule of Events.

  • Bring your well-prepared students to the inaugural Ron Clark Academy Model UN Conference at the Georgia Tech Research Institute.  Enjoy watching your students in committee and meet with other Model UN advisors from throughout the nation.
